In its opinion, published today, the Venice Commission commends the adoption of a new Hungarian constitution but regrets a number of shortcomings in the constitution-making process.
The Venice Commission is to meet representatives of the authorities, the various political parties and civil society in Hungary to discuss the country’s new constitution adopted last month
The agreement follows a three-day visit to Tunisia by a delegation from the commission between 16 and 18 March.
At the invitation of Tunisian authorities, the delegation will meet with the Prime Minister and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the High Commission for the achievement of the goals of the revolution, for political reform and democratic transition. Meetings with the representatives of the Ministry of Interior, the European Union and Turkish embassy in Tunisia are also planned.
