Podcast: The fight against racism and discrimination in Ireland

In this podcast, Michael Farrell, a lawyer and Ireland’s representative on the European Commission Against Racism and Intolerance, discusses the country’s response to its changing demography.

Farrell’s review of how migration and ethnic diversity is changing Irish society, follows a report this week from Nils Muižnieks, the Commissioner for Human Rights.

The commissioner stated: “The Irish government should ensure that the economic upturn benefits the most vulnerable groups and should promote equality of Travellers, women and children by removing the barriers that disproportionately hinder them from fully enjoying their rights.”
