This evening, Council of Europe experts and representatives of the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA), will discuss migration law, in a special one hour webinar.
The event starts at 18h (CET) and will address key themes – How can states manage migration flows whilst respecting human rights? What protection does the European Convention on Human Rights offer migrants? Is there a proper balance to be struck between state sovereignty and human rights? Can international cooperation ensure socio-economic protection of migrants? How does the Dublin system rate as a response to the migration crisis, and what is the role of the Council of Europe in migration related matters?
The webinar is part of the ELSA Day campaign – an annual project to enhance international standards of protection and implementation of human rights, and will be webcast live.
