Fact-finding mission to camps in northern France, by Tomas Bocek

France: Calais migrant camp closure raises unaccompanied minors fears

In a new report, Tomáš Boček, the Secretary General’s Special Representative on migration and refugees, has revealed his concern that France has yet to offer detailed plans for the accommodation and care of all those in “the Calais Jungle.”

In a speech earlier this week to the Parliamentary Assembly, France’s President Hollande confirmed that the camp was set for closure.

Now Boček wants assurances from both the French and United Kingdom authorities that all pending dossiers for Dublin-Regulation or “Dubs” transfers of unaccompanied minors would be processed before the camp’s evacuation.
