Paris terror attacks: Jagland offers condolence to French President François Hollande

Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland has written to France’s President François Hollande, to express his condolence and revulsion at the terror attacks in Paris, which killed 129 people.

“The attacks,” he writes, “were directed at us all – an attack on freedom, democracy and human rights.

“We must come together to fight violent extremism and terrorism.”

The Council of Europe took part in a national minute’s silence (photo), in memory of the victims and their families, today at 12h.
