In this podcast, Conservative MP David Davies argues that the United Kingdom should leave the human rights convention system, blaming it for making the country a soft touch for criminals.
“The human rights act is quite often being used by rapists, murderers and other serious criminals to avoid deportation and that is clearly wrong,” said the MP for Monmouth, following a Parliamentary assembly meeting last week.
Arguing that the European Court of Human Rights should be treated as an advisory body by the United Kingdom, Davies adds “we need to bring in a British bill of rights.”
