‘Abu Hamza’ cleared for extradition

Human rights judges have cleared the way for the extradition of radical cleric ‘Abu Hamza’ from the United Kingdom.

The European Court of Human Rights yesterday confirmed its decision of 10 April 2012, in the case of Babar Ahmad and Others v. the United Kingdom. Judges declared that there would be no violation of the applicants’ rights under Art 3 if extradited to stand trial in the United States.

Hamza, whose real name is Mustafa Kamal Mustafa, lodged a request last July for referral of his case to the court’s Grand Chamber.
