This year, the Council of Europe celebrates the 40th anniversaries of the Strasbourg European Youth Centre and the European Youth Foundation.
Both institutions were created in 1972, as part of a funadamental commitment to young people and their interests and are integral to the evolution of Council of Europe youth policy over four decades.
In this interview, Ulrich Bunjes, the Head of the Youth Department at the Directorate of Democratic Citizenship and Partnership, explains the priorities and development of the organisation’s youth policies, assesses the current travails of young people in Europe and gives his view on their future prospects.
