Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland has signalled that dialogue with Azerbaijan’s authorities on human rights concerns will have greater impact than boycotting next month’s Eurovision Song Contest in Baku.
“I am concerned with the situation in Azerbaijan regarding freedom of expression but the Eurovision Song Contest is an opportunity to have a debate and raise these concerns,” Jagland told the Irish Times.
